Backup Exec 11d - Full backup with reset archive b - VOX
Hello all, I have a previous version of 11d and would like to upgrade to version I have looked for it on the Symantec website but can only find hotfixes and/or service packs for , but not the actual download. Could someone provide a link or point to where on the website I can find. Hi all, I'm running an full backup with reset archive bit to tape job every workday of backup to disk files. The job runs fine but backs-up all data every day! This means that Backup Exec is not taking notice if the archive bit is set or not I think?? I recreated the job already, but that dídn't h. This worked in version on Windows standard server sp1, BE10 but stopped working on version 11d sp1 when I upgraded. BE does not clear the archive bit anter a full backup. Tech support came up with alternate backup options but I found them not workable if backup exec found a open file.

A full backup job DOES reset the archive bit but this makes no difference in your situation since you are running fulls each night. You also mention "data that is sent to tape every day" - are you duplicating the backup to disk files onto a tape?
A few things will help us better determine what's going on - First, please clarify what your current setup is - are you backing up to disk, tape, both?
Also, you say that the jobs are failing but what do your job logs say? What errors are you receiving? Lastly, it might be helpful for you to upgrade to the latest build - I see that you're running rev. These jobs store there backup data to 3 backup to disk folders on this backup server. The backup method for these jobs is "Full - back up files - Using archive bit reset archive bit " The jobs are scheduled to run every monday till friday at pm.

You're saying that it backs up to disk just fine this is your full backup. I'm a little confused as to why you want to backup only changed files to a tape The standard way of doing this would be to run a full backup to disk, then duplicate the full backup to tape on the weekends and then run incremental or differential backups during the week, backup exec 11d download full version.
For a job to only backup changed files you would want to choose either Incremental or Differential. Backup exec 11d download full version again for your effort to solve my problem. Because the backup to disk data is kept for 2 days you don't want to backup data to tape every day that already has been sent to tape the day before.
